Is it Monday already?

This weekend was a fun adventure for Brian & bambinos! He was the "World's Best Dad" (by vote) and stayed with Brett and Emma while I went on an overnight trip for my good friend Katie's birthday! I was relaxing on the sandy shores of Sanibel while Brian was enjoying the company of the two cutest babies I know. I tried not to have too much mom-guilt, and Brian genuinely enjoyed his time with his little cuties so that made it a lot easier. Even though I had a great time, I couldn't wait to get home to Brett and Emma!!

But I did have one pit stop on the way home...I got to meet my best friend's brand new baby girl, Madison! Madison is so sweet and beautiful. And she is lucky to have a fantastic mommy and daddy!

Madison is nakey in this pic because she was getting a sponge bath!

I LOVE this picture of her - stolen from Facebook!
Seeing a fresh new baby makes me miss having a newborn. For about five seconds. Then I snap back into reality and try to remember how in the heck I ever functioned on less sleep than I get now?? Good luck, Jenn and Mike, we are so happy for you!

In the Boksen home, Emma has been doing a funny little crawling move lately where she keeps one leg straight out to her side. It is odd looking but apparently it serves a purpose because she is now able to sit up on her own from crawling! She's super cute about it, too.

I laid her in her crib tonight while I got Brett ready for a bath and this is how I found her a couple minutes later...

Just playin with my toys!

Since Emma and Brett are both pulling up to their knees and trying to grab on to anything in sight, I think it is about time to take out the crib mobiles and lower their mattresses. Oh boy!!

During bath time we took some silly pictures...what's new??

AND - I think Brett and Emma's halloween costumes are complete. It took a little while for me to find all the different parts to their costumes...but I think it came together nicely. We cannot wait to dress them up this weekend, for Mickey's halloween party!

Just a sneak peek - ignore the bad quality iphone photo!

Well, that's all for now...I am going to work on a couple craft projects before I get to sleep. It was a great weekend, but I am exhausted! Is it Friday, yet???

FALL starts this week!

Is anyone else excited??

The BEST part is...

Pumpkin Spice Lattes!

I have actually only had one pumpkin spice latte since they made their debut a few weeks ago! My co-workers and I just started the South Beach Diet so I have to nix the sugary drinks...but this is only temporary, rest assured :)

There is so much to do during the Fall. Brian and I love to go to different events. (OK - sometimes I have to convince Brian to humor me and join in on the fun, but he always ends up having a great time!)

One of our favorite halloween events is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!

I am so excited to take Brett and Emma this year, I think they are going to love it!! We are spending a weekend in Disney in two weeks and this is definitely on the to-do list.

And we are dressing them up as Thing 1 and Thing 2. Brian is going to be Cat in the Hat and I am still undecided on my costume. We are carrying this theme out through their first birthday party - which matches up to their nursery! So we are getting the most out of the ADORABLE outfits I am putting together for them :)

All the fun things we do in the Fall are pretty cool...but starting new traditions with Brett and Emma is going to be the most fun of all! I am really looking forward to sharing our favorite things with them. I hope they enjoy them as much as we do!

Happy FALL!!!

What's for dinner?

Brett and Emma are eating so many different types of foods now - they are true foodies!

I love taking pictures of them when they eat, especially when they are trying new foods. I love that B&E have pretty much enjoyed all the foods we have given them to try! I think they are going to be great little eaters :)

Here are some of the best pictures I have of them...they're great!

Eating food can sometimes be messy, but it is always fun!

Marco, Polo!

Last weekend Brett and Emma went into the swimming pool for the first time. They had a great time!!!

Emma loves the pool!

Brett loves the pool!

Rusty might join us...

Yay! It's a family affair :)

I am enjoying what is left of Summer...although I do love the Fall! Pumpkins, corn mazes, and cooler weather are less than two weeks away!

7-month-olds!

Hi, everyone! It has been a very hectic last few weeks. I am still adjusting to getting back to work and boy is it tough! But I am managing OK thanks to some very special people! Brian has been amazingly supportive, as always. He is waking up earlier than usual every morning to get Brett and Emma out of the house and to his mom's. Once there, Brett and Emma are very well taken care of by their Grandma and Aunt Heather. So thanks a bunch to them!! I know how tough some days can be with two infants, but Susan and Heather make it look easy :) And they are always buying new toys, clothes, and yummy foods! So I would be lying if I said we weren't making out pretty well in those regards. So thanks, again!

Last week Brett and Emma turned 7 months old! And again, my attempt to get some decent photos ended in a humorous FAIL!

Brett stole Emma's headband!

Then something else caught his eye...

The remote. He sure is a lot like daddy!

Emma is still ready for pictures!

Possibly a decent shot in their high chairs!

But Brett is not interested!

:)

I love these kids!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can you not smile?

Living for the weekends...

It has been a loooong week but finally the weekend has arrived! We have been having so much fun and keeping busy!

Friday night we had dinner at the Vinoy, where Brian and I got married! We ordered some delicious sushi but Emma decided to try something new...

Emma was stealing daddy's bread!!
She didn't really "eat" any bread but she had fun playing with it. She seemed to like it though so I hope she doesn't have Celiac Sprue, like her mama!!

After carb loading, Brett and Emma fell asleep in grandma's city mini.
Devoted tummy sleepers!
Saturday morning we got up early (thanks, guys!) and played before getting ready for a very special birthday party!!! Brett and Emma's best playdate friend, Leila, turned ONE YEAR OLD! It was a really great luau on Indian Shores with real hula dancers and a monkey!

Birthday girl, Leila, reaching for her cake! Look at those proud parents! :)

After the party we were exhausted but had great seats for the Rays game. We headed out for a few innings and had a great time, surprisingly! I was so worried that after the long day, B&E would be exhausted and cranky. But they stayed awake for the first few innings. We left early and the Rays were winning 5-0! Woo-hoo!!!

Since we had such a long busy day yesterday, Brett and Emma slept in until 8 this morning!!! YAY! That was awesome :)

Brett and Emma were being very silly during breakfast this morning, so of course I caught it on camera. They have fun getting food all over the place.

Breakfast gave them all the energy they needed to play with their new favorite toy...newspaper!

Can you find the two cuties in that mess?
Is it just me, or do the weekends come and go way too quickly???
